In
the context of the Centenary celebration of
the Alliance Ethio-Française, the 7th
Edition of the ETHIOPIAN MUSIC FESTIVAL will
be held from the 7th to the 17th of May 2008,
in Addis Ababa.This festival will be dedicated
to the pianist, singer, composer and arranger
Girma Beyene who marked the Addis swing era
as a giant musician.

Melaku
Belay est un danseur traditionnel éthiopien,
né en 1980 à Addis-Abeba. Il commence
sa carrière en se formant au National
Theatre, tout en menant des recherches sur les
différents styles de danse éthiopienne.
Il se produit au Ras Theatre et au Hager Fiker,
au sein de différentes troupes, sur les
scènes les plus prestigieuses d’Ethiopie.
Il danse également à Djibouti,
au Mali, au Niger, et a participé en
2007 au festival Africolor à Paris.
Melaku
Belay is an innovative traditional dancer, born
in 1980 in Addis Ababa. At the beginning of
his career, he received intensive training sessions
of performing and choreography from the National
Theatre, while carrying researches on various
Ethiopian dances. He performed at the Ras Theatre
and at the Hager Fikir, with many troupes, on
the most prestigious stages of Ethiopia. He
dances in Djibouti, Mali, and Niger. In 2007,
he was invited by the Festival Africolor in
Paris.

Dan Harper »
Compositeur, producteur,
guitariste, bassiste, arrangeur, programmeur
et éditeur, Nick Page aka Dubulah a travaillé
avec de nombreux artistes célèbres.
Il a enregistré un album intitulé
« A town called Addis », à
paraître chez Real World, le label de
Peter Gabriel. Dan Harper est un musicien qui
mêle dance, psychédélique,
trance, rock, funk, world, dub, chants africains
et instruments traditionnels. En collaboration
avec une troupe de musiciens éthiopiens,
tous deux ont contribué à créer
une nouvelle approche électronique de
la musique éthiopienne contemporaine.
Nick Page, aka Dubulah
is a writer/producer/guitar and bass player/remixer/editor
and programmer, who has worked with a long list
of notable artists. He has recorded an album
in Ethiopia to be released on Peter Gabriel’s
Real World label titled “A Town Called
Addis”. Dan Harper is a musician who mixes
dance, psychedelic, trance, rock, funk, world,
dub, with African vocalists and traditional
instrumentation. The two have collaborated with
a range of Ethiopian musicians to create a new
electronic approach to contemporary Ethiopian
music
